By Kim Dunbar Staff As training camps are fast approaching, many NFL teams are making the final moves to shape and mold their rosters. This week, players are saying hello and good-bye to different teams, and beginning the difficult deliberation of whether they'd look better in their new home or away uniforms. Brothers Johnnie and Chad Morton are heading to opposite ends of the NFL. Kick- returner Chad Morton is on his way to New England after agreeing to a one-year contract with the Super Bowl Champions worth about $600,000 plus incentives, writes ESPN.com. Chad's brother, wide receiver Johnnie Morton, signed a two-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers, who held the NFL's worst record last season. Johnnie was cut by Kansas City earlier this month while Chad was released by Washington. The New Orleans Saints signed free agent Az-Zahir Hakim yesterday in an attempt to strengthen the wide receiver position. The 28-year old veteran is someone the Saints have been looking for since cutting Jerome Pathon after last season. Hakim will be competing with second-year player Devery Henderson as well as others for the number three receiver spot. According to the Associated Press, Hakim made a deal with Kansas City last week but after it fell through, New Orleans signed him for more than the veteran minimum of $665,000. While some teams have been shopping veterans from around the league, others have been reaching deep into their draft pool. The Green Bay Packers signed defensive end Michael Montgomery, their sixth-round draft pick out of Texas A&M. Last season Montgomery posted 78 tackles, six sacks, 12 tackles for loss and one interception. Chicago also signed one of their draft picks, wide receiver Mark Bradley, to a five-year contract. Bradley, who hails from Oklahoma, was the 39th overall pick. In addition to playing 37 games as wide receiver, Bradley also played the roles of kickoff and punt returner as well as a member of the specail teams unit. In other news around the league, Kasas City Chiefs cornerback Julian Battle suffered a torn left Achillies tendon in a mini-camp practice and will miss the upcoming season. The Chiefs were planning to use Battle as a starter in place of Eric Warfield whose legal problems have kept him off the field. Battle was Kansas City's third round draft pick in 2003 and used him in 26 games. While the thermometers are rising, the heat is on around the NFL and pressure-cooking its teams and players. With five weeks to go before training camps open, teams will be scrambling to compete with the New England Patriots for the NFL's top crown.
